Following a Doc tradition a ride to Celebrate our Doc Moms, Wives, Girlfriends, Grannies and Daughters??♀️ was planned for Woman’s Day. ???And we had a sea of Pink arrive at Rietvlei on Friday morning.??
A later start was planned for this Special Ride, giving our Ladies a chance to lie in a bit, and maybe have brekkie?? in bed?. So by 9 am the parking lot at Rietvlei was chockablock with Doc riders. And it seemed like we had a few more ‘Lady’ ?riders than previous thought!? A big shout out to those Doc’s that went the extra mile… Who knew how good some of the guys would look in pink lipstick ?, not to mention the addition of a D-cup ?or two!?
After a quick photo the riders headed out lead by Kelcey Crossley pushing her Dad???… As close to 60 Pink Lady Doc riders hit the trails the traffic literally stopped!? That was because we had some Fabulous Traffic Cops ? headed by Gary Fraser making sure our DocFamilies, especially the Doclings had safe passage over the busy intersections. Thanks guys for helping keep us all safe.?
At a pace that kept our whole group together we meandered away from Rietvlei ,passing the Mellow Yellow Group on their way home, onwards towards the Circus ?. WattKing Gawie was put under pressure as the two young Badenhorst Doclings put the hammer down along ChitChat? And Bruno didn’t even try to compete… he opted for the safety of the car, not wanting Carolina to make him look bad!? As the peloton raced along our Ride Photographers Clarence and Brad were hard at work taking photos and videos of the Pink Peloton passing by?.
As we cruised along the Jeep track heading to our Tickled Pink?WP?there was much hooting and cheering from the locals as they watch in stunned amazement at the snaking sea of Pink ?super hero’s, unicorns? and fabulous Fairy’s passing them by. This was truly an amazing sight.
The Heineken factory came into sight and we could see the Doc banners fluttering in the light breeze?…. There under the Doc gazebo under the watchful eye of Captain Mark and Supersupporters Shaun, Brad, Bruno, Michael Venter, Wayne and Ashley Branco a feast waited us! A support table that makes the Joburg2C guys look like they need lessons? It was very festive ? and the Strawberry ? lips, OBS and Coke were flowing. Again it was time for a photo shoot before last last few Km’s to the Circus.
Kelcey pushed her Dad out of the WP? along with Noah dressed in his finest. Super Hero Louis was sweeping up a storm, making sure no one was left behind licking up the final crumbs of the koeksusters? And so off our Pink Parade went. As we went over the bridge before the Circus ? Gawie challenged Wian and Jared to a Race ? ….??? A dust cloud was all we saw as the Racing snakes ? pedaled over the ‘line’ ready for their Medal ? and their banana ? bread.
The Circus ? had arranged a coffee and banana ? bread station to feed all the hungry Docs and the sun was out after a slightly chilly start to the day. So we all sat, soaking up the Sun ☀️ enjoying a coffee with the yummy banana bread. We had been very lucky and had quite a few Awesome Prizes donated so those need to be handed out?? And with everyone make such an effort the decisions weren’t very easy?
Firstly a big thank-you to all the Sponsors?❤️

Thanks Guys you rock!!
The competition was fierce! But after a lot of deliberation the winner of the Best Dressed Lady was Rock n Roll ??Mary Ann who had a fabulous 50’s Theme going on. Janita de Beer was our Lady’s runner up in her Fairy Wing??♀️ And if the competition was fierce between the Ladies then the Men took it to the next level??? But by the tips of his Pink Nails?? Oom Thys sashayed off as the Best Dressed Gent followed very closely by our very own Synchronized Swimming Legend Byron Moore?. Kelcey Crossley and Wian Badenhorst were our winning Doclings and Jessica da Silva and Tristan Jordaan were our winning DocTweens???? ??? We also had fun with some spot prizes for some lucky Doc’s. All in all it was a great Circus Stop!
The ride back to Rietvlei was just as much fun? Even though a few of our DocStars had opted for an Uber Ride home for an afternoon nap ?and because we’d had so much fun a few die hards went to grab a milkshake before heading home. As one of the Doc Lady’s I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my day? How often do we get to dress up and spend the day with Family and Friends while still being able to ride our bikes??♂️??♀️ Thanks again to everyone who made the day such a success and so much fun! Let’s do it again next year!!???
